Rockville, Md. — May 28, 2024 —Psomagen is excited to announce our labs' completion of training on the 10x Genomics Visium platform. This will allow us to add Visium HD for CytAssist to our current list of services. Visium HD and CytAssist methods provide probe-based, whole transcriptome discovery tools.
Visium HD for CytAssist provides:
-
High-resolution gene expression. Increased resolution can detect 11 million features in a tissue sample — up from 5,000 features on Visium Spatial Gene Expression, with no gaps between features.
-
Single-cell scale. With subcellular resolution, analyze cell function and interactions. Investigate how cellular components impact disease states.
-
Automated barcoding. Oligos are divided into roughly 11 million 2 x 2 µm barcoded squares across a 6.5x6.5mm capture area.
-
High sensitivity & accuracy. Increased coverage without the loss of sensitivity or accuracy. Initial results in the Visium HD for CytAssist indicate comparable sensitivity to Visium v2. The design of assay workflows and gap-free barcoding make for high-accuracy target molecule capture.
For Linda Orzolek, Psomagen's Single Cell & Transcriptomics Product Manager, the arrival of Visium HD for CytAssist is something customers can be confident in. "Researchers have been waiting a long time for the availability of Visium HD. While the delays were unfortunate, they were necessary to ensure HD hit the market as successful, right out of the box. I am so excited to help our clients take this next step in their transcriptomic research." Psomagen's lab staff training on the Visium system ensures we are ready to begin projects on the system. "Psomagen’s Single cell & Spatial lab has shown proficiency in the most complicated processes, and Visium HD is no different. These are highly sensitive and delicate protocols, and I hope our clients will continue to entrust us with their precious samples."
Visium is the third 10x Genomics platform to be added to Psomagen labs, joining the Chromium for single-cell and Xenium for spatial biology protocols. The company's spatial biology platforms also include the NanoString CosMx SMI. "Adding Visium HD for CytAssist is a major piece of the spatial biology puzzle," says Matt Kramer, VP of Sales & Marketing. "This addition to our portfolio ensures that Psomagen customers have access to the technology best suited for their research needs."
