New White Paper Compares Olink Explore HT Performance on Illumina and Ultima Genomics Instruments

Share:

Our most recent white paper discusses the results of running the Olink Explore HT assay on both the Illumina NovaSeq X Plus and the Ultima Genomics UG 100. Explore HT is a multiplex protein assay, capable of targeting over 5,400 proteins in a single panel. The assay offers 99.5% specificity and 100% coverage of top-level pathways.

The purpose of this white paper was to assess the efficiency and accuracy of the UG 100 in running Olink Proteomics projects. The recent launch of the UG 100 and its “flow-based” technology has created a new option for less expensive, low-error next-generation sequencing. To test this, our lab sequenced the same four Explore HT libraries on the UG 100 and on the NovaSeq X Plus.

Our bioinformatics team then compared the runs on Illumina and Ultima instruments. Results showed:

  • Comparable distribution of total counts per sample

  • Comparable distribution of total counts per platform

  • Strong correlation between samples

  • High reproducibility between platforms

  • Consistent protein abundance across runs

  • Sequencing batch effects successfully removed via bridging

These results indicate that the Ultima Genomics UG 100 generates data comparable in quality to the Illumina NovaSeq X Plus, but is a more cost-effective choice for sequencing. For more details and data, read the full white paper at the link below.
